Lake County in California has some of the nation's clearest, darkest skies.  It's perfect for star gazing and amateur astronomy.  It is also home to Taylor Observatory-Norton Planetarium, a small astronomical facility dedicated to educating the general public about the cosmos.

Lake County Skies is dedicated to promoting an interest in astronomy.  This site was created and maintained by John Zimmerman, a local amateur astronomer.
